Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 1, 2026. Inspect Genius operates as a custodian of inspection data — we don't sell, share, or train models on customer data.
01What we collect
Account data
Name, work email, employer, and role of users (inspectors, property managers, owners, tenants) we're given access to.
Inspection data
Property addresses, room layouts, photographs, voice notes, observations, condition tiers, and timestamps captured through the mobile app.
Device and usage data
Device model, OS version, IP address (for audit logs), and anonymized usage analytics.
What we don't collect
We do not collect facial recognition data. We do not collect tenant social security numbers, financial accounts, or government IDs through the Service.
02How we use it
- To deliver the Service: drafting reports, publishing PDFs, delivering to tenants and owners.
- To maintain audit logs and verification hashes for legal admissibility.
- To support and respond to inquiries.
- To improve the Service in aggregate, anonymized form.
We do not train AI models on customer data without explicit, written opt-in.
03Sharing
We share data only with:
- Sub-processors we've vetted (see Trust Center) under signed DPAs.
- Tenants and owners who are recipients of a report.
- Law enforcement in response to a valid legal request, with notice to the customer where legally permitted.
04Retention
Inspection records are retained for the period specified in the customer's order form (default: 7 years). Account data is retained for the life of the account plus 30 days. Audit logs are retained for 7 years for evidentiary integrity.
05Your rights
Under GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA (California), and similar regimes, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. Send requests to privacy@inspectgenius.tech; we'll respond within 30 days.
06Cookies
We use a small number of strictly-necessary and analytics cookies. You can decline analytics cookies via the banner on first visit; the Service works either way.
07International transfers
EU customer data stays in the EU (Frankfurt) by default. Where transfers are necessary, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses.
08Security
Encryption at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3), per-tenant encryption keys, SOC 2 Type II controls. Details on the Trust Center.
09Children
The Service is not directed to anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect data from children.
